Cosmetology

Our Cosmetology program prepares individuals to care for hair, nails, and skin with emphasis on hygiene, sanitation, customer relations, and salon management. Classes are held from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m five days a week in a modern facility especially designed for the program. 

  • Students are only accepted during the fall semester at the Senatobia and Oxford campuses.  

  • Students are accepted both fall and spring semesters at the Ashland campus.  

  • The cosmetology program is based on clock hours (1500 hours) rather than semester credit hours and takes three semesters (12 months) to complete. 

Special admissions requirements: 

  • Complete an application for admissions to the college 

  • Applicants must be at least 17 years old.  

  • Have a high school diploma or GED/HISET equivalency on file with the admissions office 

  • Must have an ACT subscore of 15 in math and a subscore of 15 in reading. 

  • Have official ACT scores on file with the admissions office 

  • Confirm with the admissions office that high school transcript or GED/HISET transcript and all previous college course transcripts have been received in the admissions office. 

  • Admissions to the Cosmetology Program is based on a scoring rubric 

  • Admissions to the college does not guarantee admissions to the program.
