NUR 2129 - Nursing IV 9 Credit Hours
This course provides students with both didactic and clinical learning experiences and builds on the concepts and clinical reasoning skills in NUR 1109 , NUR 1209 and NUR 2119 . Emphasis is placed on psychosocial assessment, therapeutic communication, psychiatric treatment, advanced medical-surgical conditions, leadership, management, prioritization, and appropriate delegation of care while functioning as a client advocate and a member of the multidisciplinary team. Provides supervised learning experiences in the college nursing laboratory and selected clinical agencies developing skills in preparation to provide competent entry-level professional, compassionate, coordinated, age and culturally appropriate, safe and effective nursing care. A grade of “C” or above is required for the theory component and satisfactory completion of the clinical component for success in the course. If this does not occur, both the theory and clinical components must be retaken together.
Prerequisite: NUR 2119 . Corequisite: NUR 2313 .
